Guy Hasn’t Showered in 12 Years as a Science Experiment

Is this even safe?

You did read the title correctly and he actually is a chemical engineer.  His name is David Whitlock and by day he lives in Boston and is an engineer.  He cam up with a strange idea for an experiment and used himself.  He decided not to shower…for 12 YEARS!  If nothing else it shows incredible determination.  Apparently he wanted to test the hypothesis that people do not need to shower to be healthy.  And in addition, that daily soaps and scrubs may remove beneficial bacteria.

To boost the presence of odor-eating bacteria, Whitlock has designed a bacterial spray called AO+ Mist, which is now sold by the companyAoBiome under the brand Mother Dirt. The company hopes this bacterial spritz could reduce the need for products such as soaps and deodorants and potentially even reduce or eliminate the need for showering for those so inclined.

Does this sounds smart or insane?
