Will This “Gravity Powered Light” Revolutionize the World?

is this bogus on incredible?

Recently this invention went viral on social media.  They nailed their round on indiegogo.com and claim to have the power (no pun intended) to help billions of people.  Those are very strong claims obviously so they will need to be vetted further.

This is a revisit if you haven’t heard about their potentially revolutionary invention The Gravity Light.

This is the problem and solution as they describe it:

20% OF THE WORLD’S POPULATION DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ELECTRICITY.

THAT’S 1 IN 5 PEOPLE.

With a growing world population, this number is projected to remain the same for the next 20 years. Without electricity, most of these people have no other option but to use kerosene lamps to light their homes.

GravityLight is unique – it doesn’t need batteries or sunlight and costs nothing to run.

It takes seconds to lift the weight that powers GravityLight creating 20 minutes of light on its descent.

Could this actually change the world or is it way too early in the prototype phase to know?

That sounds promising let’s check it out in the video on page 2
