
What is that?
We often assume that the number of planets revolving around stars have always been the same. Meaning, do we ever think about if one was ejected or one was added or formed later on? There has been a lot of talk about exoplanets lately and this one in particular has made a lot of headlines:
HD 106906b, a giant exoplanet discovered last year sitting at a large distance from its parent star, may have been kicked out of its birthplace in a process similar to what may have happened early in the history of our Solar System.
It is described as a Super Jupiter due to its sheer size and that it is a gas giant at 11 times that of Jupiter.
