Have you heard about this?

This has BAFFLED astronomers for years.  A lot of the pics of this galaxy were from The Hubble, and surprisingly they got some help from an amateur astronomer.  Messier 106 is particularly mysterious for a number of reasons:

Well they are absolutely unusual.  And on a related note, there is another Messier galaxy that is responsible for a mysterious phenomenon.  Messier 13 which is different is the potential home of the “arecibo message” which still remains a mystery to this day.
