Astronomers Found a Hole in the Andromeda Galaxy

The comments on this video thread are quite how do we say all over the place.  However there are some solid remarks too.  One commenter had this to say in reply to an earlier post:

Most places in a Galaxy, including our own, are actually VERY hot! HUGE tracts of any Galaxy are the Gas and Dust Clouds, the hatcheries and incubators of new Stars and Solar Systems…..they are also known as Nebulae.  These Clouds can span 1000’s of Light-years, and their temperatures are usually into  the millions of degrees C.  So, Michael, if you go on a cosmic flight, best to avoid those Clouds!!! One of those in our own Milky Way, is the Orion Nebulae and it is very beautiful and colorful, but quite small by cosmic standards.

Back to the point of this anomaly do you think it was just a galaxy collision after watching this video or is there more to this?

Check back for updates as this story will likely have more data as they examine things further.
