science fiction is becoming science reality…

They had known about this area of space for a while but were baffled by this find.  You may or may not have heard the term “binary star system”.  If not, it is basically like it sounds, where two stars are rotating in proximity and around the same center.  However, this is asbsolutely bizarre and awesome:

A team of researchers working at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics has announced the finding of a triple-star system—one that also as has a stable orbit planet in it. In their paper published in The Astronomical Journal, the team describes how they came to see that a binary system once thought to be a single star, was actually a pair of stars orbiting one another, and how that led to the revelation of the triple-star system.

Would you have ever guessed that they would find something like this?

And you read that correctly there is a planet.
