Ceres Update – Part 5 With a Video in 3-D

this dwarf planet STILL remains a mystery

This debated moon/dwarf planet continues to baffle with its “bright spots”.  There are theories all over the place.  Some of the more common ones are that they are mineral deposits that shine when the sun’s angle is right.  Others say they are icy spots.  But here are some anomalies in regards to them making these theories not completely certain.  The internet has been buzzing for a while about these!  In part 5 of our Ceres coverage, here is the latest video from NASA, close to the surface!

Take a tour of weird Ceres! Visit a 2-mile-deep crater and a 4-mile-tall mountain in the video narrated by mission director Marc Rayman. Get your red/blue glasses ready for the finale – a global view of the dwarf planet in 3D.

All of the data was generated from NASA’s Dawn spacecraft, currently in orbit around Ceres.
