
Guy Makes A Power Generator That Runs On Backyard Creek


He uses an 18 gauge wire and 40 wraps which should give him more voltage than his previous generator which lasted over a decade. Also note Mark is really good about answering questions such as this one from the comments section:
Question: Hi Mark, I love your videos on your generators! This is great. Can you tell me how the magnets are attached to the steel ring? Epoxy? It would be great to see a video on how you mold the stator. Also, how much drop do you have from the bottom of your wood flume to the blades? Thanks. Mike.
Answer: Epoxy will work. I made a reusable mold, it is kind of like a cheese cake mold. I think the drop is around 2 feet. From top of water to top of water on the down side is 3 feet.
He also designed it so animals can easily swim out of it in his creek. At about 9:20 in the video he shows it in action. Apparently he is able to power at least two refrigerators and more with this thing. Nice job that is awesome.
