One of the commenters on the video thread asks this physics question with some humor:

 

How many W’s do you think you could get from a car battery or even better a semi-truck battery and what could such a laser do? I am just wondering.

It would be cool if you could get a old fashioned sailboat, some semi batteries, some giant laser death cannons, and test the cannons out on some giant or colossal squid. Some sharks or the moon would work nicely as a target to I suppose.
