Wait…what?
Electromagnetic acceleration is what this technology is based upon. Have you ever heard of that term before? Apparently at least one NASA scientist is staking a big claim upon this as a potential propulsion system. Here is what he had to say about it in a recent paper:
“Electromagnetic acceleration is only limited by the speed of light while chemical systems are limited to the energy of chemical processes,” writes Lubin in a paper on the technology.
NASA scientist Philip Lubin is working on a system where lasers propel spacecraft with giant sails to the Red Planet in as little as three days. Much like Bill Nye’s much-hyped solar sail, this ‘photonic propulsion’ system relies on the momentum of photons – particles of light – to move forward. But instead of photons from the Sun’s rays, Lubin’s design would be given a push by giant Earth-based lasers.
Ok giant Earth based lasers? Does that sound more like something out of an Austin Powers movie or an actual solution? There have been stranger things.
Let’s find out more about this technology and check out a video of it on page 2

Would be cool. But we haven’t even gotten nuclear fusion down….
Wouldn’t You Also need a Giant lazer on mars to slow the thing Down?
DO IT. BUILD IT. LETS GET THE TECH GOING.
Michael perhaps it maybe mount on the front as well? To slow down.
They had a documentary about possible laser sails ten years ago. Pretty cool stuff.
Nelson Vega more of it here
If we are seeing this now, it probably means it has already been around since the damn sixties and we have already been going to Mars…hell we probably already have colonies on Mars…as well as the Moon…bahaha
Time will tell
Like the original Tron …riding a light beam pulse
And send it back…
the watching to much TV.
No. It can be captured by Gravity

Justin Bordigan had the right answer. The whole fusion issue.. if Germany and China are working w it right now. If would be a safe bet to say we have it aswell. Oil companies are in a decline. Get ready for the news.
Highly doubtful unfortunately
I want one for the NH Speedway.
I’d go to Mars in a heartbeat if it was only a three or four day flight be like this is so f****** awesome but there’s no I’m f****** living here let’s go
Know for sure? Lmfao

It’s a two hour gravity pull.
We have bases there already.
Get informed.
Well, hell, that’s a LOT faster than the argon plasma engines, ain’t it?
Deanna Victorah Davis
It’s not far enough away yet. I need new people to appreciate.
Why?!
Jacob Mason not travelling faster than orbital escape velocity
They have been able to get to Mars in 3 minutes for many years.
By “going to Mars” in three days they must also mean you would be a big grease spot in a larger crater on Mars.
