This could be a game changer..

The exoplanet kepler 452-b made headlines as an earth-like planet.  Now, astronomers are searching for more of these exoplanets in hopes of finding an alien civilization.  To this point it has been mostly limited to using super telescopes such as the one at ESO or The Hubble and deploying techniques to detect them around distant solar systems.  Now, they are bringing a sophisticated tool online in the Chilean outback that seems promising.
