Could New Type of Battery Charge an iPhone in 1 Minute?

Ok who’s ready for an iPhone or Android charger that takes one minute to go to fully charge?  I think about anyone who uses a smartphone can’t wait for the day, especially with older phones.  Apparently some very smart researchers are on the case and may be close to that solution:

Researchers at Stanford University have developed a new battery that can be recharged in about a minute and is safer than the lithium ion cells used in everything from smartwatches to passenger jets.
It could one day mean super-fast charging of smartphones and other gadgets

Wait did they say other gadgets too?  That would be incredible.  We are all tired of streaming a few videos or having a few calls then scrambling to find a charger or worse having your phone go out mid call.

Find out what technology they would use to achieve this on page 2
