3 Likely Reasons Why We Haven’t “Seen” Aliens YET

What do you think?

The main crux of it is basically the contradiction of the seemingly high likelihood of extraterrestrials given the incomprehensibly large or infitine visible universe yet the fact that “most” of us have not visibly seen aliens.  A very clever philosopher examines this paradox further with 3 fascinating and thought provoking explanations.

Here are the 3 possibilities the writer poses as explanations:

Possibility 1) Super-intelligent life could very well have already visited Earth, but before we were here. In the scheme of things, sentient humans have only been around for about 50,000 years, a little blip of time. If contact happened before then, it might have made some ducks flip out and run into the water and that’s it. Further, recorded history only goes back 5,500 years—a group of ancient hunter-gatherer tribes may have experienced some crazy alien shit, but they had no good way to tell anyone in the future about it.

Here are numbers two and three from his point of view.  These really are thought provoking and interesting:

Possibility 2) The galaxy has been colonized, but we just live in some desolate rural area of the galaxy. The Americas may have been colonized by Europeans long before anyone in a small Inuit tribe in far northern Canada realized it had happened. There could be an urbanization component to the interstellar dwellings of higher species, in which all the neighboring solar systems in a certain area are colonized and in communication, and it would be impractical and purposeless for anyone to deal with coming all the way out to the random part of the spiral where we live.

Possibility 3) The entire concept of physical colonization is a hilariously backward concept to a more advanced species. Remember the picture of the Type II Civilization above with the sphere around their star? With all that energy, they might have created a perfect environment for themselves that satisfies their every need. They might have crazy-advanced ways of reducing their need for resources and zero interest in leaving their happy utopia to explore the cold, empty, undeveloped universe.

What do you think, is he right?  Or is there another explanation?  Feel free to comment as this is a very interesting topic of debate.

Have you ever seen a huge aquarium where all conditions around are perfectly and artificially done for fishes? and Have you noticed that some of them act as if they new they are trapped ? Well, there you go! you will never see them until they want you to see them, or you had to wake up for yourself and realize that they have been there all this time watching you. (you are the fish)

We are a planet in the middle of no where and we still have to put directions on shampoo. I’m not shocked that first contact has yet to happen.

any species evolved enough to travel millions of light years would be so far ahead of us that we couldn’t even guess what they are thinking, it would be like religious people putting out a list of possible reasons that god hasn’t returned yet…if there were a god, you would be pretty stupid to assume you know what they are thinking, the same goes for highly advanced alien lifeforms…i doubt they go around announcing themselves to every primitive life in the galaxy, there wouldn’t be much point, thanks to matter replication technology and asteroid mining they wouldn’t need anything from us or others like us, so why risk being attacked, or infected, or at the least mess up the natural evolution of countless species, of which they are no doubt studying…

People believe we came fro. Adam and eve and if that’s true then we are all inbreds. I know if I went to a planet that had 7 billion people with severe down syndrome and nuclear weapons. I would do exactly what the aliens do. Fly by and say$#%&!@*that I’m out. Lets snatch one up for testing and put it back. Remember that planet full of retards doesn’t realize they are retarded. They think everything they do is normal.

Aliens won’t come to us because we’re toxic. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s signals out of the edges of our solar system warning anyone from entering!!!! (jk)

I think humans vibrate on such a low level & we see only so much of the light spectrum that we don’t realize that they’re already here just my thoughts.

Well, the biggest thing i think about is contagious disease when traveling on Earth. So why would aliens plop their asses on some random$#%&!@*planet and bering back a virus or bacteria that they can’t treat? I call it the “Keep those damn cooties to yo self” theory.

They would go to the leaders, not the public. They would observe us, find out who runs everything and than go to them

Isn’t this question similar to saying “I’ve been religiously playing the lottery for 20years and never won a thing…. I mean why not??” Or “I’ve taken part in every competition that I’ve ever seen for the past 40 years, and not one single prize…surely I should have won something by now??”
If we followed this line of logic then according to Murphy’s law at some point the earth is going to be inundated with so much alien intervention that it will become another mundane part of our everyday lives!
