1,000,000 People Were Playing a Game You Can’t See…Before Pokemon Go

Except unlike other mobile games, Ingress players — known as agents — have to run around city streets, parks, alleys and backcountry destinations in order to win. The game is played by millions of people, and if you’re in a major metropolitan area, chances are that Ingress players are all around you.

Over 1 million people are playing and you can’t see them.  Here is more on it from wikipedia:

The gameplay consists of establishing “portals” at places of cultural significance, such as public art, landmarks, monuments, etc., and linking them to create virtual triangular “control fields” over geographical areas. Progress in the game is measured by the number of “mind units” (MUs) captured via such control fields, i.e. people nominally controlled by each faction (as illustrated on the Intel Map).[8][9] The necessary links between portals may range from meters to kilometers or hundreds of kilometers in operations of considerable logistical complexity.[10]International links and fields are not uncommon, as Ingress has attracted an enthusiastic following in cities worldwide[11] amongst both young and old,[12] to the extent that the gameplay is itself a lifestyle for some, including tattoos.[13]

Will this continue to grow in popularity and start expanding into other areas such as business with virtual reality gamification?  We hope you enjoy the video and how does this compare to Pokemon Go?
