Here is an interesting look at what the next 50 years of space travel will bring in terms of missions, what is planned, and new capabilities.  Some space travel fans seem to be focused on the more ambitious ideas such as creating a warp drive or plasma engine.  Others are more focused on exploring our own solar system which would take less kind of unusual innovation but work with our existing knowledge base in a more efficient way.  If we made it to the moon in the 1960s we should be able to put our minds together and go to Mars right?
