A Telescope Caught This Epic Black Hole Meltdown

you don’t see this everyday 😉

Every now and then there is something that is just plain cool.  This does not necessarily any theory to test or new invention, but the observation of space and how incredible the activity can be.  Apparently some of the new space telescopes are so powerful they are capable of observing phenomenon that only a few decades ago were impossible to see:

Black hole extravaganza from ESOcast. Not long ago, watching something being ripped apart as it falls towards a giant black hole would be science fiction. This is now reality.

Observers under dark skies, far from the bright city lights, can marvel at the splendor of the Milky Way, arching in an imposing band across the sky. Zooming in towards the center of our galaxy, about 25000 light years away, you can see that it is composed of myriads of stars.

Whoa have you ever heard of this happening?
