it may be THE most mysterious artifact ever…

The Rosetta Stone remains one of archaeology’s biggest mysteries and it is not often discussed.  The translation of it has baffled many for centuries.  It was also a greatly contested object between different countries, and some of that is still taking place! Here is what one commenter on the video thread had to say:

It is kind of surprising it took them so long to translate it. Something like the circling of words should have been obvious. It could only be for emphasis and in the ancient world that would mean it must have been the name of a god, city or king. And for a culture sophisticated enough to build the pyramids, the language would have to be phonetic by that point.

And even though most archaeologiststhink they have translated everything, there are still those who disagree.  What do you think?
