How did this happen?

There is a bizarre string of events that led to this. The Salton Sea is an unusual place in Southern California, somewhat inland.  And the strangest part is it was not a natural formation which we will get into on the next page.  The eco system is bizarre as well.  Not only is this the largest lake in California but has the second  most diverse bird population in the entire United States.  Whoa…and we hardly ever hear about this place.

And the climate is extremely hot as it is in the middle of  the Sonoran Desert.  Can you believe this?
