Ceres Update – Latest New Close Ups Of Mysterious Spots

Many of you have been following the mysterious pics from the dwarf planet Ceres, and in particular the famous bright spots.  Now they have just released the closest pics of those spots ever:

A stunning new image from NASA’s Dawn spacecraft shows a cluster of bright spots on Ceres’ surface in unprecedented detail.

The intriguing bright spots lie in Occator crater. Named for the Roman god of the harrow and a helper to Ceres, the crater has a diameter of 60 miles (90 km) and a depth of two miles (4 km).

    After viewing the source image from NASAjpl, the largest white spot looks like a dome,or a giant scoop of frozen yogurt! A clearly airbrushed portion on the left side(follow the parrallel tracks from yogurt mountain) makes me wonder
