And one more traditional astronomer had this to say in regards to the matter:
Emily Petroff from Swinburne University, who helped discover the pulses, has suggested this pattern may lead to an important discovery.
She tweeted: ‘We have no idea what’s going on, but we know it’s definitely something cool.’
So even she seems not to be convinced it is from a pulsar by saying she has no idea what’s going on.

I find that a little hard to believe. The article says the signal source is 6 billion lightyears away… I’m not an astronomer, but I do know that they have pretty reliable methods of figuring that detail out. *shrugging*
It’s been said, that when a technology level is sufficiently advanced from the observer’s level. It will seem like magic. Astrophysicists have figured out how pulsars do their thing. But what if they’re missing the point? If there were a level 3 civilization wanting to create a beacon… A pulsar would be a good choice. They’ve grabbed OUR attention… And we’re a level 0 civilization.
It’s a purely pie in the sky thought.. But it would be funny if it turned out we were the galactic version of a moth.. Si fascinated by a light.. That were oblivious to the wider perspective.
