I keep a duty cycle of 30 seconds on and 1 minute off so I never experience dimming by preventing overheating of the diode. The dimming means the diode is being subject to serious harm and likely means your diode will die much more quickly as it is essentially abusing the diode. I recommend never keeping it on longer than 1 minute in this host because it’s small and doesn’t dissipate heat very well.
