Have you ever seen a giant Tesla coil before?  Apparently this brave experimenter has one in his backyard.

DO NOT try this at home. This is probably a really poor use of judgement although it is not my place to judge.

That being said, it is pretty darn neat to watch. This home inventor is displaying the capabilities of an absolutely enormous Tesla coil. As you can see the copper coil configuration and cylinder structure work on small devices as well as larger devices. Much like the way a hand touching a glass lightning ball will attract the electric pulses to the edge of the glass, the metal wand this guy is holding is attracting the electricity.

There are actually a lot of cool smaller ones made at home by a lot of experimenters.
