This guy demonstrates how to make a Water Lens which he burns a board with and boils some water. You could use this to heat or burn things or focus light for solar panels I guess. You would want to cover and seal the top so the water does not evaporate though. I’ve seen survivalists stuff where a bottle of water can be used to create a fire too.

Commenter R. Gimenez is enthusiastic and has this to say:
