Guy Makes a “Junie-Lee Tesla Coil Lamp” and its SWEET

This is a continuation of the description about the process and DIY device in the video:

Also use a potentiometer in place of rhe resistor to tune the base circuit better. Maybe a 10 turn 20K pot would do nicely for this. Tesla did not have silicon power transistors back in the day, and needed to use things like spark gaps with quenching and high voltage capacitors on the primary circuits. Spark gaps are electrically noisy and waste power. The circuit here might benefit from a capacitor or two in the right spots.

Below you can read some of the enthusiastic comments about this project:

Nice build and good to see the Watt meter used…far more accurate than a multimeter with HV. I liked how you parked the fluoro tube in the Primary windings lol
I changed the resister to that of only one kilo ohm and it brightened up allot! With better distance from the coil as well
glad to hear it worked for you. Hope that a lot of folks learn to play with high voltage and plasma the 4th state of matter, and extend our knowledge with a lot of hands on experiments. Higher voltages and novel coil geometries are ripe for more explorations.
Thanks to the home experimenter for uploading this and keep an eye out for new vids!
