Have You Heard Of This Mystery Island – Por-Bajin?

Here is a bit more information on this strange island from wikipedia:

Por-Bazhyn (Por-Bajin, Por-Bazhyng, Russian: Пор-Бажың) is the name of a ruined structure on a lake island high in the mountains of southern Tuva (Russian Federation). The name Por-Bazhyn translates from the Tuvan language as “clay house”. Excavations suggest that it was built as an Uyghur palace in the 8th century AD, converted into a Manichaean monastery soon after, abandoned after short a occupation, and finally destroyed by an earthquake and subsequent fire. Its construction methods show that Por-Bazhyn was built within the Tang Chinese architectural tradition.

One of the commenters on the video Chris doesn’t think this is weird:

This isn’t weird if you look at it in the context of history. Back in the day, I believe a tribal group of people called “Tu jue” (might be confusing this with “xiong nu”), were terrorizing China, and it wasn’t until I believe the Han Dynasty that drove them out all the way westward. The people driven out remained silent for many centuries, until suddenly, the Ottoman Turks suddenly sprouted out and rose to power, using much of the sample style of weapons and tactics, that dominated European history. This place is just a relic of them trying to rebuild their society after being driven out of the Han Empire. Just because Siberia is in Russia, doesn’t mean that back in the day people couldn’t just walk over there. Yeah, it is buried in the middle of nowhere, but that is because of time. For all we know, that area could have been rich with winter animals for people to hunt and survive.

We hope you enjoy this video.
