This guy surfs it and it is bizarre..

This is real and a phenomenon of oceans that happens at certain times.  Some may or not remeber when Laird Hamilton surfed a wave in Tahiti which had one of the highest PPSI ever ridden.  Each wave has PPSI or pounds per square inch that are calculated for the volume of water.  Here is an intro to what this video shows:
