He uses an 18 gauge wire and 40 wraps which should give him more voltage than his previous generator which lasted over a decade. Also note Mark is really good about answering questions such as this one from the comments section:
Question: Hi Mark, I love your videos on your generators! This is great. Can you tell me how the magnets are attached to the steel ring? Epoxy? It would be great to see a video on how you mold the stator. Also, how much drop do you have from the bottom of your wood flume to the blades? Thanks. Mike.
Answer: Epoxy will work. I made a reusable mold, it is kind of like a cheese cake mold. I think the drop is around 2 feet. From top of water to top of water on the down side is 3 feet.
He also designed it so animals can easily swim out of it in his creek. At about 9:20 in the video he shows it in action. Apparently he is able to power at least two refrigerators and more with this thing. Nice job that is awesome.

Tyson Morse did u see this?
sounds good until the word creek and then it’s just a water turbine like farmers used to use to grind grain at the mill
So what? !

Ummm tesla… Niagara falls….. same$#%&!@*smaller scale…
An over-shot wheel (or 2) would make better use of the water flow and wouldn’t require dropping the stator. Stator could be mounted horizontally and driven by gear, belt or chain. Critters going over the wheel would be dropped into the pool below with no harm from turbine blades.
