I don’t agree with base it but what is logical sometimes is what was taught to us to be logical. They taught a lot of stupid shit 200 years back and that was logical as well. The problem these days is that people are starting to think and listen to some alternative theories of space and time and physics. Have you noticed that people who are science prone are almost always nearly fanatically loyal to theories and not even proven things. For example the big bang, black holes are all mathematical constructs based on flawed concepts that were proved mathematically correct but physically impossible. It’s amazing that today logical is that which can be proven mathematically first and THEN look for corresponding physical evidence, And who will know the wiser because neither you nor I can travel out their to prove or disprove the almighty funded scientists who eek out countless mathematical papers very single day.
We can’t wait to see more pics from this planet and maybe one day some of the surface! Feel free to comment with any knowledge or theories you have in regards to this find and this year should be packed with a lot of updates.

This image is very old. This planet lies well outside of the star’s habitable zone. Not to mention being that you can see it as a dot in the picture means that this planet is several times bigger than Jupiter, which also mean biology as we know it couldnt possibly exist on this planet. This guy doesn’t know what he is talking about.

Abdul most of the science we talk about is all theoretical. Meaning it’s not 100% fact. I think that is what Tony is trying to say about mainstream science. I’m sure you have a belief in an all knowing all creating God as most intelligent people do. So how are you going to let a human scientist tell you how and where life can exist. We only know a portion of biology cause we go by biology here on earth. The truth is. We have no clue what’s out there and it’s ok to admit that.
AntonioBruno I get what you saying. This is why I stated and most scientist state “life as we know it”. I and most scientist believe that life does exist elsewhere based on different chemistry. With that said, I am very familiar with the planet discovered in this article and due to its size the planet is closer to being a failed star, therefore making life on it a very slim to impossible probability.
The universe , no such thing as it ends anywhere .

The star at the center of the image is Fomalhuat, I believe the planet is named Fomalhuat b. So, Aaron Taylor Braswell Antonio Bruno and Tony Godwin Jr. Search those names on Space.com and jpl.nasa.gov and you’ll see I am correct.
Uninhabitable because its not close to the sun? Somebody forgot planets can make their own heat. The surface of ur$#%&!@* is 8000° n its way out of the imaginary habitable zone.
Planets do make their own heat but depending on the size if the planet that heat can dissipate rather quickly in geological terms. Next 8000 degrees newton is roughly 43,000 degrees Fahrenheit, if temeratures like these did exist on Ur$#%&!@* it would be close to or in its core, beside as I have stated “life as we know” and no life as we know it could exist at 43,000 degrees. Lastly again the planet discussed in this article is several if not many times larger than Jupiter, making closer to being a fail star or brown dwarf star. It is well outside the star’s habitable zone and more than likely produces it’s own heat, but it couldn’t possibly have a surface and we have yet to find any life that can exist under these cir$#%&!@*stances. I never said life on this planet isnt possible just extremely unlikely. If this guy wanted to write about the possibilities of life on other planets, there plenty of other planetary examples that would make his speculation a lot more plausible. Don’t beleive me? Read about star Gliese and its planets, then get back to me.
