Is This The First Image Of An Alien Friendly Planet?

wait…WHAT?

This video examines the spotting of an “alien planet”.  That doesn’t mean they have seen aliens, it implies that it could be habitable by life forms (at least by our limited understanding of biology).  It is from ESA’s Hubblecast and it is incredible that they are able to share pictures that were previously unattainable!

Michael Echeveria, a commenter is enthusiastic and had this to say:

Someone has got to make a better telescope, so that we can see what’s going on on its surface.

Ok let us say this is in fact an alien planet.  What would you recommend doing?  Should we send SETI signals there or perhaps something different?

Or NASA may have another idea like trying to send a probe there using one of their insane new engines.

Let’s see what they found in the video on page 2

I love the humbleness of the author in stating [“it implies that it could be habitable by life forms (at least by our limited understanding of biology).”] I deplore human arrogance when it comes to life and biology. This tiny segment of the this article has totally made my day. Thank you and continue the great work.

its gonna be funny when they finally get to those alien planets and discover just a bunch boring humans who were just about to explore aerth their name for our planet…..everyone just gonna be like …can we borrow some jetfuel…lol

I think are understanding of life is limited by our observations. Extremophiles are slowly changing our view.

No because that’s Formalhaut b and it’s semi major axis is at least 100 AU. At that distance from the star, nitrogen freezes. Good job generating hype though guys!

This image is very old. This planet lies well outside of the star’s habitable zone. Not to mention being that you can see it as a dot in the picture means that this planet is several times bigger than Jupiter, which also mean biology as we know it couldnt possibly exist on this planet. This guy doesn’t know what he is talking about.

Sorry, Tony Godwin Jr.. Hate to disappoint you, but I am 100% correct and know exactly what I talking about. Also for the record, there is no such thing as mainstream science. Either your science is proven or it isnt which at that point it ceases to be science. So, either you’re trolling or just as big an idiot as the person who wrote that article.

All i can say is im not a big alien person but if you really think , look at the sky half we can’t see with satellites if we are here nothing saying cant be more out there

  8. Mikey Sims said:

Of course there’s more out there… The chances of it only being us is not possible. Anyone who thinks we are it is foolish. I’d say it’s safe to say there are millions of alien life form

To quote this article. We have a limited understanding of biology in this universe. Who are we to say when and where life can exist. Come on now. This may be the most closed minded comment I’ve ever read.

  10. Antonio Bruno said:

Abdul most of the science we talk about is all theoretical. Meaning it’s not 100% fact. I think that is what Tony is trying to say about mainstream science. I’m sure you have a belief in an all knowing all creating God as most intelligent people do. So how are you going to let a human scientist tell you how and where life can exist. We only know a portion of biology cause we go by biology here on earth. The truth is. We have no clue what’s out there and it’s ok to admit that.

  11. Abdul-Jameel Ahmad said:

AntonioBruno I get what you saying. This is why I stated and most scientist state “life as we know it”. I and most scientist believe that life does exist elsewhere based on different chemistry. With that said, I am very familiar with the planet discovered in this article and due to its size the planet is closer to being a failed star, therefore making life on it a very slim to impossible probability.

The star at the center of the image is Fomalhuat, I believe the planet is named Fomalhuat b. So, Aaron Taylor Braswell Antonio Bruno and Tony Godwin Jr. Search those names on Space.com and jpl.nasa.gov and you’ll see I am correct.

Uninhabitable because its not close to the sun? Somebody forgot planets can make their own heat. The surface of ur$#%&!@* is 8000° n its way out of the imaginary habitable zone.

  14. Abdul-Jameel Ahmad said:

Planets do make their own heat but depending on the size if the planet that heat can dissipate rather quickly in geological terms. Next 8000 degrees newton is roughly 43,000 degrees Fahrenheit, if temeratures like these did exist on Ur$#%&!@* it would be close to or in its core, beside as I have stated “life as we know” and no life as we know it could exist at 43,000 degrees. Lastly again the planet discussed in this article is several if not many times larger than Jupiter, making closer to being a fail star or brown dwarf star. It is well outside the star’s habitable zone and more than likely produces it’s own heat, but it couldn’t possibly have a surface and we have yet to find any life that can exist under these cir$#%&!@*stances. I never said life on this planet isnt possible just extremely unlikely. If this guy wanted to write about the possibilities of life on other planets, there plenty of other planetary examples that would make his speculation a lot more plausible. Don’t beleive me? Read about star Gliese and its planets, then get back to me.

Anything is possible.. both sides have strong points. Truth is, “we really dont know” everything is theory. Hence coming from scientist who cant “prove”

if so we will never really know, have something in charge of of USA that does not care for the people of USA one bit, if he did he wound do something about climate change

If it is the smartest thing would be to leave it ALONE !! We simply aren’t all that yet , new kids on the block , babies in our technology.
