Whoa..

The advent of wi-fi has changed computing as we know it, enabling high speed wireless connections from just about anywhere.  Now there is a new game in town “Li-Fi” and it might be up to 100 times faster than wi-fi.  That seems like quite an accomplishment and would reduce slower upload and download speeds, especially when lots of people are accessing one router.  Here is a bit more about it:

Expect to hear a whole lot more about Li-Fi – a wireless technology that transmits high-speed data using visible light communication (VLC) – in the coming months. With scientists achieving speeds of 224 gigabits per second in the lab using Li-Fi earlier this year, the potential for this technology to change everything about the way we use the Internet is huge.
