Guy Makes a Light Saber “Volcano” Style

How cool is THIS?

The dude used a 12w blood orange main component and walks us through the process.  Lightsabers and lasers are awesome and who knew there was a custom lightsaber group on the facebook?  Apparently social media can be used to unite around all sorts of interests which is awesome.  The home experimenter had this to say about his device:

This is a custom volcano inspired saber I built for my youngest brother using TCSS hilt pieces with a custom paint job by me to achieve a rocky, weathered look. Internals are nano biscotte version 2 soundboard with custom sound font designed by me, 12w blood orange LED by saberforge.

Have you ever seen anything like this?  Is this just for Star Wars fans or does this transcend movies in overall coolness?

NOTE:  DO NOT TRY THIS WITHOUT THE SUPERVISION OF A PROFESSIONAL

Most Star Wars fans do appreciate a good home made lightsaber and here are some of the comments.

Commenter Zacheria says:

Awesome!!! I can’t wait till I get my crystal reveal lightsaber. Long wait but patient. I had watched a video of a darth vader lightsaber you customized and wondered if you could do the same with mine. I want it to stay in the format it’s in but tweek the insides. It’s an fx model. Maybe add a crystal reveal to it.

Commenter AB was very enthusiastic:

Man, that’s a cool saber. I LOVE what you did with the sound font, it makes the saber super menacing. Out of curiosity, how long is the hilt? It seemed super long, but I guess Justin is a bit taller than you.

We hope you enjoy the video and be careful when experimenting with lasers!!
