Nanotechnology and Light..See What it Can Do

Nanomaterials are less than 100 nanometers in length, width or depth.  That is a few billionths of a meter.  At this Syracuse University lab they are studying mainly two areas  within the world of nanotech.  One are semiconductive quantum dots and alloy nanoparticles like gold and silver or stainless steel.  In this video what is so cool is that they are attempting to get light from these materials without having to plug them into an electrical socket.  Here they are using ultraviolet light in a dark lab shined on a transparent mold they made.
