Physicists Find Another ‘Unseen Layer’ of Information in our DNA

wait what?

Just when you thought dna and rna was the extent, they found another layer of information.  With the advent of electron microscopes this century, scientists have been able to observe the dna of many different species.  Humans of course have 23 pairs of chromosomes in each cell.  And to make things very interesting, there is yet a new complexity for scientists to study:

Theoretical physicists have confirmed that it’s not just the information coded into our DNA that shapes who we are – it’s also the way DNA folds itself that controls which genes are expressed inside our bodies.

That’s something biologists have known for years, and they’ve even been able to figure out some of the proteins responsible for folding up DNA.

Is that insane?  What does this say about how our bodies develop and the future of medicine?

Let’s find out more about this insanely cool discovery on the next page
