Planet Forming Solar System is Actually Seen Up Close

that is too cool.  What will they find?

It may give us implications into the formations of our own solar system.  This is incredible as astronomers have located an early forming solar system that can give us incredible insight:

A remarkable young stellar system has been found that could upend our theories of how quickly planets form. By observing a disk of material around a star 325 light-years away, astronomers have seen a close-up view of a star still forming with at least one planet close by for the first time.

The astronomers used the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) in Chile to study this star, called HD 100546.

And recently they have been studying gas giants and other exoplanets.  These finding have been giving mathematical modeling some new data to use.

It may not be a surprise at all if they actually find out gas giants in particular formed faster than previously thought.

Let’s find out more about early solar system formation on the next page
