Many home scientists have experimented with Tesla coils.  The quest for efficient energy as well as studying the properties of coil configurations is really interesting.  Sometimes trying different things out to observe the properties of different elements and substances with coil configurations can yield some interesting results.  Here is an intro to this video:

This is cool and I’m glad this experimenter thought of this as testing noble gases can yield a lot of info.
