They Pointed a Laser at Saturn to See What Happens

not sure that was a great idea?

Let’s see what happens when astronomers point a laser into space.  Apparently the team thinks they can detect images with much more clarity than using previous mirror and telescope techniques.  Here is some info on their experiment:

The 4 Laser Guide Star Facility (4LGSF) team have achieved first light with the first of four laser guide star units on Unit Telescope 4 (UT4) of ESO’s Very Large Telescope at Paranal. This is a key step on the way to creating the full Adaptive Optics Facility.

If you have gone to a live show at a planetarium you have likely seen a model of the stars in the sky in the exact ratio as they would appear without the interference of light pollution and other factors.

The team of astronomers also pointer their laser at some other large formations.

They used some very expensive and sophisticated equipment.

Let’s find out what they discovered and check out a cool video on page 2

Do you think planets can talk? Does each one make a stellar sound that travels through space even though it’s vast and all, they’re spinning and moving fast and have inactive and active cores
