There have been many discussions, and some that have progressed pretty far in regards to terraforming other planets. That entails trying to manipulate a planetery environment so that life could flourish and make it more like earth. So, how about Jupiter?
So just what would it take to terraform Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system?
In fact, it might even be easier than terraforming Mars or Venus, as long as you keep a steady flow of gas to the Moon replenishing the constantly escaping atmosphere.
Jupiter is a ball of hydrogen and helium, which compresses these gasses to almost starlike temperatures and pressures. Fine, Jupiter is the absolute worst. It makes traveling to Venus look like a spa visit.
If nothing else this is fascinating.
Let’s check out more and watch a video on how this could be done on page 2

Considering, we don’t know if it has a solid surface… No…
Terraform? No! Make it into a second Sun? Yes.
Is this a joke?
There is so $#%&!@* much wrong with everything about this, it fairly boggles the mind.
Well considering the planets gravity would completely crush a human if it where possible. And considering the planet is entirely made up of gas, it is not possible…
How would they remove trillions of tons of atmosphere?
How John? We possess nothing that could start a fusion reaction on that scale! 2010 was a movie and nothing more.
No we don’t now but that doesn’t mean we won’t in the future. It is possible and I know 2010 is just a movie lol. I not an idiot 😉
Its a gas giant you idiot!!!!
That’s just stupid!
Its a big ball of gas, nothing to terraform
Global warming doesn’t exist we are just terraforming Earth into a gas planet. We’ll plant a few trees create some bodies of water on another planet then destroy it. If we don’t touch another dead planet it would still be as if we did.
You can’t terraform a gas giant. Not to mention that the radiation would kill us. Haha
Not a possibility. Not reason needed. It’s meant to observe and that’s it.
Jupiter has a solid core or so Is theorized. But it’s under thousands of miles into the planet. The pressure from it’s atmosphere would crush a human a few miles in.
No
Hahaha… Ahahaha… HA!
Not even click bait, just garbage. Would have at least been nice to talk about terraforming Jup’s many many moons.
Can’t even fix Earth …..
They say things to sound smart…
There’s no terra go form. This is psuedo bull$#%&!@*
Milk is also just milk until you add chocolate then it becomes chocolate milk! Yes anything is possible change its chemistry life has shown us we are on control of our surroundings and beyond life is essentially what we make it!
They don’t want to terraform Jupiter the moderator jus put that in the $#%&!@*le this article only states that Jupiter may be solid at the core don’t be sheep people READ
The Genesis Torpedo.
Trying to terraform jupiter wouldnt change the effect the sun has on the planets. All of the planets are within the suns gravitational pull, changing jupiter wouldnt affect the entire solar system. But jupiter is still too vast and extreme for any humans to live on.
No one has ever terraform a palnet so lets just say everythings possible.
@[100000750944946:2048:Nathan]
Do you think that’s actually a picture of Jupiter?
Somebody doesn’t understand gravity…
Stupidity at its finest folks
It needs more m$#%&!@* anywho.
Anyone else notice the article refers to Jupiter as a moon? This is pseudoscience and hopeful thinking.
No
Well to kill the obvious you can terra-form a planet made entirely up of gas.
Can’t.
Terra forming is polluting a planet with no ozone or little ozone. Doesn’t help with an ozone.
Stop. Just, stop…
What kind of moron thinks this can actually happen in our lifetime?
No solid surface. Someone must of been bored or not know anything about our solar system or how gas giants work
No
Jupiter is a failed star… we would notime be here if this turned out to be a binary Star system.. no way in hell can you Terraform a failed star.
Terraforming gas is possible to certain extents and wouldn’t change the gravitational pull or enough to make large difference $#%&!@*uming the majority of the m$#%&!@* is used.
Finally! Someone speaking my language haha
No
Pretty much destroy it. Take its gas layers away and terraform its rocky core.
It’s impossible.
yehhhh..sure what you drinking…Jupiter it’s a giant gas planet with out Jupiter no be balance in our solar system…
Hahaha
I wouldnt say impissible but the technology to do it is waaaaybeyond our grasp and comprehension! But the problem remains jupiter is a GAS giant the has little if any solid structure. Also any tampering with jupiter would likely change things enough that our planetary system would cease to exist as we know it….i wouldnt say impossible but highly unlikely.
The solar system all works together in harmony, I’m no rocket surgeon but something tells me we really shouldn’t be fkn with planets..
