This Metal Is So Light It Can Sit On A Dandelion

How is this even possible?

It is actually made by Boeing and it has many potential applications.  The structure is made of 99.99% air even though it is metal.  Researcher Sophia Yang is in the video explaining some of the details.  A microlattice is basically a 3D polymer structure which enabled them to configure the tungsten in such a fashion to give it it’s extremely low density.  She interestingly explains it similar to an egg drop challenge that many students partake it.  It gives many layers around a core in a sense.

Let’s check this super light metal out in the video on page 2
