this is insanely SWEET!

A Solar Eclipse like this one is absolutely gnarly.  It is one of those astronomical events that we can watch without the use of a crazy powerful telescope.  Some people have used different techniques to observe them over the millenia.  Here is an intro to a video showing a particularly cool vantage point:
