This Theory of Time Will Make You Scratch Your Head

The comments on this one are bizarre and interesting.  Here are some of them:

Commenter DC says:

The answer to this video is…. NO! Time is not, subjective. Just because time shifts, or rather it’s phase does, depending on the location and the circumstances of that location, does not mean your conscious reckoning of time, has anything at all to do with the ‘reality of time’, otherwise when I wanted to sleep in, I would simply slow time down… and I don’t! A watched pot does NOT boil slower! Subjective means, how YOU think of time, not what time is doing.

Time is NOT an illusion, that’s a bogus notion pandering to social relativism, to make the powerless humans feel like they’re in control. YOU do not CREATE time, anymore than you create reality itself. Contrary to new age wisdom, we are not gods. Our perceptions, are not the metric of the universe. We are only small little furry creatures eating and shitting on an obscure chemically soaked rock. You want to be special?, do something physical, then maybe it’ll matter, otherwise… it won’t.

Narrator Jonathan replies:

It’s tricky. You could say it’s the tendency for entropy to increase, since that happens in only one direction. As in, systems get less ordered, not more ordered. For example, if you had a deck of cards sitting out on a table, it wouldn’t be a shock if you left and came back to see them tipped over. But it would be a shock to leave a mess of cards and come back to an ordered deck. Time is the same way, a one-way arrow. Beyond that? It’s very tricky.

We always like to see theorists interact with the question threads.  Thanks for making this interesting video!

So time truly is an illusion? Weird. I has not considered that. I am taking this out of my own mind because of what read. If we ourselves did not age, nor see something decompose, we would not perceive time. That all is not time. Who are we to say that oxidation, decomposition, old age, and most other deconstruction can be referred to as time? Weird. It took me all this “Time” (Decomposition) to figure it out.
