these stars are BIZARRE…

Here is a list of 10 of the strangest stars that we have seen in space.  Some are similar to our own Sun and some display properties that are incredibly unusual and much different than our own.  One type of star that is actually very strange is a Wolf-Rayet:

Astronomers have suspected for years that Wolf-Rayet stars, massive stars stripped of their outer layers, are the likely progenitor of Type Ib or c supernovae, but how these stars form is a different question. Now, a team of astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope and Chandra X-ray Observatory has observed an unusual star that may provide new insight into a Wolf-Rayet star’s formation.

And in a related note have you heard of the planet that is made out of diamond?  Seriously astronomers spotted a carbon planet.
