Two Crazy Guys Made A “Vortex Cannon” And THIS Happened

Its the first time it has ever been fired with 150 liters of one of the world’s most explosive gas mixes in there.  The narrator agrees it is a dangerous experiment as well btw.  Haha you can hear the experimenters shout in excitement when they first fire this thing.  They also film the shot at 1300 frames per second really making no doubt that indeed a vortex ring shoots from their canon.

A 200 mile an hour cloud is what has been generated.  They even try it on sticks which is stronger than straw and seems to work.  Wow.  What happens when they try this thing on bricks?  Just watch near the end of the video.

They seem to be very excited and I wonder if there are any practical uses for this type of physics?  Wikipedia states there are vortex mixers:

A vortex mixer, or vortexer, is a simple device used commonly in laboratories to mix small vials of liquid. It consists of an electric motor with the drive shaft oriented vertically and attached to a cupped rubber piece mounted slightly off-center.

Glad to see this is being used for practical purposes and we hope you enjoy the video.

There wasn’t a foundation in the straw and stick huts. The brick structure was just a wall with no grout or support. None of these structures are strong. I’m not sure what this shows.

    Precisely.
    I have them a pass.
As a simple demonstration, it was incredibly cool and novel.
    Personally
I’d be a little hesitant to stand in front and take a hit.
Any insurance claim would certainly be denied.
    Lol
