Who Built These 150,000 Year Old Pipes Found In China?

These “pipes” in the Qunghai Provence of China remain a mystery to this day.  Many think of Egypt, South America and parts of Europe when it comes to archaeology.  However, there are some awesome finds in China.  This particular discovery is particularly unusual.  Here is an excerpt from one researcher in regards to them:

Though some have since tried to explain the pipes as a natural phenomenon, Yang Ji, a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told Xinhua the pyramid may have been built by intelligent beings. He did not dismiss the theory that ancient extraterrestrials may be responsible, saying this theory is “understandable and worth looking into … but scientific means must be employed to prove whether or not it is true.”

Below is a larger pic of the area and one of the pipes.  Here is what they had to say:

And if they were made by humans, history as it is commonly viewed would have to be re-evaluated.

The dating was done using thermoluminescence, a technique that determines how long ago crystalline mineral was exposed to sunlight or heated. Humans are only thought to have inhabited the region for the past 30,000 years. Even within the known history of the area, the only humans to inhabit the region were nomads whose lifestyle would not leave any such structures behind.

What do you think?  Was this made by locals, is their dating system wrong or is there another explanation?

And China is home to some of the most amazing archaology discoveries in general.  Here is the great wall of China.  Not so mysterious but absolutely awesome:

Here are some of the Dazu rock carvings:

The comments on this video thread are very spirited as often is the case with archaeological discussions.  Commenter JL had this to say:

Events in Earth’s history, may have had effects on various structures, throwing off the timeline.   For example, the great flood, could very well have collapsed the pyramid and had an effect on the rock beneath it. Obviously the pipe was laid at a time when the surrounding rock wasn’t rock at all, or the rock was cut through to lay the pipe within.

150,000 year old? That number alone raises red flags. Then the question of “who” built them implies that it was an intelligence of some kind. For having the name “science” in the title, this page really jumps to a lot of unsupported conclusions.

What’s more insane? Believing something like this or believing s textbook written by someone you don’t know whose entire livelihood is from a grant OR from selling it to as many college kids as possible?

Tubular structures in rock=150,000 year old pipe laid by intelligent beings? Wtf?! Not too many geologists or maybe petrologists over there in China, huh? Iron minerals regularly form structures like these when iron rich water flows through, and erodes, cracks and crevices in the bedrock. Not extraterrestrial rocket science, not some barely stone tool using Homos inventing the first in-cave plumbing….no, it’s nature. Water+soluble iron+time=crazy$#%&!@*rocks constantly fooling people into thinking they just found the holy grail of Something. Ó_o

Mankind is 800,000 years old. Armageddon happened 75,000 years ago. We went from many millions of people to just 1500.reckon we might have forgotten a few things?
