Einstein was the first to theorize this and the new discovery sheds light on one of science’s mysteries.  You may have heard that last month they detected gravitational waves for the first time ever.  I mean most people know that gravity exists but the waves part is fascinating because it comes closer to proving the space time model posed by Einstein.  He had done an experiment decades ago where he flew a stopwatch around the world (well someone else did 😉 ) and then compared it to his own.  The differences are what he expected.  A slight difference in time was picked up.
