There have been some cool perpetual motion devices on YouTube although one very ambitious home experimenter has made almost 100 videos:

The creator of these machines — Valeriy Ivanov — is a Ukrainian engineer living in Canada. According to his website, the purpose of these contraptions is, “to attract youth to Engineering and Science… [so they] can discuss basic scientific principles upon which they are built.”
