The team at MIT Media Lab is really working on something fascinating in regards to farming.  Aeroponics is a new way of growing food.  Caleb Harper who is the narrator on this video is the founder of CITYFarm research project.  He explains that hydroponics is a broad term for an array of things and derivations that all do different things.  Aeroponics is on the far side in that maybe a crop is sitting in still water or has a change in its environment such as having fog added to the room.  He states that aeroponics can grow up to 4x faster than a crop using conventional farming methods.
