Decoding The Hidden Universe

As with any scientific theories and debates the comments can get quite interesting:

Commenter TB has an interesting, almost philosophical comment:

It isn’t dark energy, expletive, it’s because everything in this neighborhood is expanding outward from a central point. All are slowly moving away from each other, thereby decreasing gravitational attraction to each other which in turn causes speed to increase, lessen gravity = increase of speed. Everything in space moves the same unless acted upon by an outer force, if you remove an outer force there must be an equal and opposite reaction.

Commenter AdBeats has a thought provoking question too:

How can we say that we now the age of the universe? We are measuring how fast galaxies are moving away from earth, and everywhere we look from earth the farthest we can see is 13,4 billion years. This doesn’t explain how old the universe is but only that at that range after 13-14 billion years maybe light dies out, and that the universe is inflating? If we go to the edge of the universe (Ak.a 13.4 billion years) and look out we can probably see another 13-14 billion years of expansion.
