1974 – 2001 Arecibo Message Update and What it Could Mean

this message STILL has implications to debate

This may be one of the most fascinating pieces of potential evidence in the entire extraterrestrial search/discussion.  And SETI by the way has gotten a large infusion of cash to restart their operations.  Here is more about the mystery:

In 1974, a broadcast (known as the “Arecibo” message) put together by Carl Sagan and colleagues was sent into space via radio waves at a special ceremony to celebrate the remodelling of the Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico. It was the most powerful broadcast ever deliberately beamed out into space. The message was directed at a star cluster sitting approximately 25,000 light years away, and consisted of a pictorial message. The radio signal depicted our planet’s location in our solar system, the core principles of our math and science, and the NASA antenna used to transmit the signal, in the hopes that it would be interpreted by an extraterrestrial intelligence. The message also included details about human beings, such as our physical appearance and DNA code.

And whether this message means anything or not is besides the point here.  It is a platform to debate what would actually happen.  There is a new fascet to the debate with the restarting of the SETI program that is discussed thoroughly.  What would we actually do and what about the “noise” Earth is sending everyday anyways.

Let’s see a picture of what they found on page 2

Maybe someone obtained the 1974 message through the thousands of places it has wen discussed and decided to make the crop circle to get a cheesy article posted on Facebook about it being a response from aliens.

Crop circles? Really? You’re telling me you believe aliens land, vandalize our farm crops, and then leave? Sounds like aliens are rebelious, manipulative, criminals. On a more realistic note, I wonder what charges a person would recieve if caught doing this.

That’s the most ignorant conclusion. It’s not like this was a secret, there’s no mystery to crop circles. If aliens were here wouldn’t you think they would have better things to do?

The problem here is that there are people making some of these, observed scientifically there are some that defy logic. There is no breaks found in the stalks of the plants. They are folded over and weaved in a way thst cannot be explained. At a genetic level, the plants affected by this phenomenon have been changed.

That’s $#%&!@*uming that they only travel at the speed of light or less. I think it’s a hoax, personally. Voyager has the message on it, but it’s in the Oort Cloud surrounding are solar system. I doubt that aliens are bopping around there. It’s a chaotic place to travel through. You would think aliens would use prime numbers to send us first. Then a binary message. The more I look at the return message the more I see a hoax.
