Mysterious Artifact Was Discovered In Turkey

Archaeological studies never cease to amaze and they just found a never before discovered mosaic floor from 1,500 years ago.  It is hard to believe that this type of precision could be constructed with the tools and technology available at the time,:

“The ancient city of Doliche (near modern-day Dülük), which was part of the province of Syria in Roman times, lies at the fringes of the Turkish metropolis of Gaziantep today,” said team member Prof. Engelbert Winter, of the University of Münster, Germany.

Apparently this was part of some type of high end vacation venue at that time.  Here is a bit more information on this awesome discovery:

“The most outstanding discovery of our excavations is a high-quality mosaic floor in a splendid complex of buildings with a court enclosed by columns that originally covered more than 100 sq. meters,” added Dr Michael Blömer, also of the University of Münster.

According to the team, the large mosaic graced the floor of a luxurious urban villa some 1,500 years ago.

Look at that detail it is so impressive.  And to think this was constructed almost two millenia ago is awesome.

Below is a related video of another incredible discovery from the region.  They are excavating the find although some think it is better to leave artifacts in their original form, even if worn from the weather and time.  What do you think is that the right thing to do?

Feel free to comment with your ideas on the matter.

I kept waiting to read what this mysterious artifact was & it turned out to be a mosaic floor, what’s the mystery in that? If they had found it in Iraq ISIS would already have destroyed it.

Obviously a fake…who would let him walk all over it with a sponge and a pail of dirt water with no regard to scientific examination… but then again it is Turkey.

Of course they had the technology. Score and tap…it’s not that hard. Do many people actually think our ancestors were (well, some were) stupid? Yes, there were some cultures at the time that were completely unaware of the wheel. Do you ever notice that you don’t see mosaics and such from them? There’s a reason for that. Most of the rest of the world was pretty advanced well before 1500 years ago.

    What the figgity-fuckballs was THAT?!?
I’m lookin’ at the click-pic like, “wow, looks like an ancient microchip! It’s like the f***in’ Zohar Artifact from Xenogears!”, lol.
And then, ….really? Really dude? A f***ing FLOORPRINT?!?
(Summons as much air into lungs as possible)
    (Climbs mountain)
    “BOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo!!!!!!”

At what point do we stop saying it’s amazing that they had this technology then? By now we should know they obviously had that technology and the skill to use it.

What’s funny here is that folks get amazed every time they see something like this from over a thousand years ago. People were every bit as intelligent as they are now. The technology may not have been the same, but human capacity for creativity was the same.

They carved and moved 3000+ ton granite rocks up a mountain and stacked them 40 meters high and our best crane today tops out at 1200 ton

Like an ancient culture was testing nuclear energy or there was some sort of explosion haha crazy I know but they did have some pretty convincing evidence I’d like to go over and study myself

all it would take is a huge comet, and then 100 thousand years later another era of man would dig us up and trip out that we had cell phones and$#%&!@*like that

You ever notice how a religious faction always destroy the things that shed light on the past?
The Christians did the same back in the day.
It’s either there’s something they don’t want people to know or its goes against there ideas.
It’s very sad that are farthest links to the past are destroyed.
The Babylonian history has the oldest stories about us. It’s like a active process of keeping us from knowing the past.

Mike Littlefield, check out the Hindu Sanskrits. They speak of a war between the gods over mans destiny.
    These sites of radioactive materials.
Are Sodom and Ghamora. Two advanced human cities that were destroyed.
The bible says they were cities of sin.
Older text say it was where man applied what they learned from the gods/Aliens.
Sumerian cuneiform text says the same thing.
2 brothers, one who wanted to teach man and the other was against it and wanted them kept as slaves.
I don’t want to say aliens made us to mine gold, but it seems the written record says that.
I mean it’s more plausible than being made of clay and there is a gap in the fossil record of man.
In one of the sumarian texts it says Ad-am was the color of clay. They were taken from there parents and made into modern humans.
    Pretty epic stuff.
Find and read the book of En-KI
    It will blow your mind

What I find shocking is people from this era think people who lived thousands of years ago were morons just because they don’t have access to the kinds of tools or machinery we have today….!

Wow. So negative. Does anyone here have any actual idea what it would take to do that with modern tools? Let alone with the tools and techniques available at the time? This floor is literally buried treasure. Many people were surely proud of it’s brilliant execution and I would speculate the people depicted owned the home. That it survived 1500 years intact to give us a glimpse into their home is amazing. What do any of us have that could accomplish this feat so effectively?

1500 years ago? That’s not some amazing, unheard of technological feat for 1500 years ago…..ever seen all the crap romans and greeks and egyptians and good god, a LOT of cultures older than that did. What is impressive it that it is frikin pretty, and it is some awesome work, and it survived all these years. That is what is impressive.
