NASA Takes Pics Of Kerberos Pluto’s Smallest Moon

Here is a bit more information about how they got these pics and what they think influenced the formation of Kerberos:

Science team members speculate from its unusual shape that Kerberos could have been formed by the merger of two smaller objects.

The newly released image of Kerberos was acquired by New Horizons’ Lorri camera from a distance of just under 400,000km. The picture incorporates a number of views and has been processed to recover as much detail as possible.

And did you know about this other factoid?

Kerberos orbits about 60,000km from Pluto and is the second-outermost of five moons.

We’re looking forward to more pics from NASA as they come in.

thanks to NASA for the great info and pic
